Nomad Design DTX - Mackerel Candy

Why has the DTX minnow become the #1 selling offshore trolling minnow in the USA? Why is the DTX Minnow different and why does it do what no other trolling minnow can do? Patented Autotune™ Technology developed by Nomad Founder Damon Olsen, over decades of charter experience on Nomad Sportfishing is why.
For mackerel, the DTX 165, 145 and 125 work well. Troll them at 5–9 knots, adjusting speed until they track deep and true. Use natural baitfish colors such as Candy Sardine or Pilchard in clear water, and brighter Pink Mackerel or Fusilier when it’s cloudy or green.
Run well back (at least 60m) where the wake is clean. Always test each lure beside the boat to make sure it swims straight. Rig with 60–100 lb mono or fluoro and add a short single-strand wire bite leader if cut-offs are common.
Target drop-offs, reef edges and current lines, keeping the lure just below or alongside bait schools rather than straight through them. Set moderate drag to handle the first run and keep the boat moving briefly after hookup to stay tight.
