Nomad Design DTX Minnow 110 & 125 - Small Profile Big Fish

Nomad Design DTX Minnow 110 & 125 - Small Profile Big Fish

The DTX Minnow 110 & 125 were engineered to take on powerful pelagic predators feeding on smaller baitfish. Despite their compact size, these lures are built tough to withstand blistering runs and crushing strikes from Tuna, Mackerel, Kingfish, Wahoo, and other hard-hitting bluewater species.

Powered by the Patented Autotune™ System and advanced Hydrospeed Design Technology, the DTX Minnow runs true and deep at high trolling speeds, no tuning required.

DTX Minnow 110: Dives to 13 ft at 4–8 knots.

DTX Minnow 125: Dives to 20 ft at 5–9 knots.

The hydrodynamic body shape produces an irresistible distressed baitfish action, while the concealed Hydrospeed belly tow point allows faster trolling speeds than traditional lures. Combined with the Nomad Autotune™ bib system, your DTX Minnow will swim dead straight and deep first time, every time.

Pro Tips for Trolling Pelagic Species

1. Match Speed to Your Target Tuna and Mackerel respond best in the 5–7 knot range. Wahoo, Kingfish, and other high-speed predators will smash the DTX Minnow at 7–9 knots. If the bite is slow, mix it up, add a few turns of the wheel or a sudden throttle change to trigger reaction strikes.

2. Stagger Your Spread Run the DTX Minnow 125 deep on the corners or short rigger for sub-surface strikes. Place the DTX Minnow 110 slightly further back to imitate fleeing bait and cover different depths.

3. Use Fluorocarbon Leaders For finicky species like Yellowfin Tuna, a 60–80 lb fluorocarbon leader provides stealth without sacrificing strength. For Wahoo or big Mackerel, consider a short single-strand wire bite trace to prevent cut-offs.

4. Find the Right Water Pelagic predators often patrol current lines, temperature breaks, and bait balls. Troll your DTX Minnows along these edges where bait is concentrated. Use electronics to locate depth changes or bait schools, running your 125 just beneath the bait can be deadly.

Why It Works

The Autotune™ System keeps your lure swimming perfectly straight no matter the speed or sea conditions. The Hydrospeed tow point means you can troll faster without blowouts, getting your lure deeper and keeping it there. The distressed swimming action mimics an injured baitfish a trigger predators can’t ignore.
