How to use the Nomad Design Madscad Stickbait

The Madscad is one of the most versatile sinking stickbait lures available. Designed to cover a wide range of fishing scenarios, it comes in multiple sizes to target everything from freshwater predators to big offshore gamefish.
Species & Applications
Smaller sizes (e.g., Madscad 65, 78, 95 & 115) are proven on Barramundi, Flathead, Bass, Kingfish, and Coral Trout in estuaries, rivers, and reefs. Larger sizes (e.g., Madscad 150 & 190) excel on pelagic giants such as Tuna, Mackerel, and Mahi Mahi.
How to Fish the Madscad:
Straight Retrieve: Simply cast and wind at a steady pace. The Madscad produces a tight, side-to-side wiggle that mimics a fleeing baitfish. Perfect for open-water predators. Twitch & Pause: After casting, give the rod a few short downward or sideways twitches, then pause briefly to let the lure sink and flutter. This stop-and-go action can trigger strikes from hesitant fish. Fast Burn: For pelagic species like tuna and mackerel, crank the lure quickly just under the surface. The fast-moving flash provokes aggressive reaction bites. Sink & Sweep (Deep Water or Structure): Let the Madscad sink to your desired depth, then use long sweeps of the rod to make it dart and glide. Pause between sweeps to allow it to flutter down, imitating an injured baitfish.
Pro Tips: Vary Your Retrieve Speed: Slow it down in cooler water or when fish are finicky; speed up when predators are actively chasing.
Target Structure: Work the lure around reef edges, drop-offs, or submerged timber where predatory fish ambush bait.
